Answer: A listing can stay in an Active Under Contract status until it closes.

  • A user must select at least one of the following "Contingency Features" when marking a listing Active Under Contract:
    • Accepting Backup Offers
    • First Right of Refusal
    • Contingent on Close

The seller can decide how long they market their active under contract listing as legally they can accept back up offers until the day of closing.

Sellers can keep their listing AUC until the listing is closed or decide to mark it Pending to stop showings and accepting offers.

Listings are syndicated as "Active Under Contract" so the public is informed the listing is under contract.
